Mafia wars level up and get more experience guide

There are many ways to level up faster in Mafia Wars. The secret is to gain more experience and this guide will show you the best ways to do it. We have written this guide based on starting from the begining at level 1. But it doesn't matter what level you are you can learn plenty from this guide to level up faster and more efficently. We have covered all the areas of the game below to guide you to level up more quickly.

Your character

The first thing you should do is choose the MANIAC as your character type, this is so you will get more energy to use on jobs at a faster rate. You can select this when you first start or you can change your character to maniac by visiting the Godfather.

Your Top Mafia and members

Getting more Mafia is very important, it's even worth doing before you even start to play the game! The main reason is so that you can put members into the Top Mafia positions (a more detailed guide on Top Mafia can be found here). Promote members into the Top Mafia Mastermind position (you need 11% bonus) and promote members into the Wheelman position (you need 11% bonus). Both of these will give you more experience from doing jobs and take less energy from you for doing jobs.

A quick note about Godfather points

Only spend your Godfather points on energy refils and nothing else. Don't wast 14 Godfather points to get 4 profile points because you can use 10 Godfather points to get an energy refil which will get you to the next level which will then give you 5 profile points. Simple maths and I hope it makes good sense to you!

A quick note about Profile points

Spend every profile point you get on energy and nothing else, don't worry about the attack or defence or the stamina or your health. If you really want to level fast then every profile point must go to energy. You will get 5 profile points every time you level up, you will get 1 profile everytime you master a job, you will get 1 profile point every time you get an achievement (view the achievements here to help you get those extra points).

A quick note about Collections

There are some collections that will give you more energy profile points. These are really worth getting and we have made this extra easy for you. There are 4 links below which will take you to pages on this site that shows you all the collections for that location. There are also links you can click to add the collections to your wishlist. Even if you are level 1, you can still add anything to your wishlist by using the links in the sections below. But obviously just pick the ones that will give you energy for completing them:

New York collections
Cuba collections
Moscow collections
Bangkok collections

Doing jobs

So... you now have your character as a Maniac, you have Mafia members who are in the Top Mafia positions (Mastermind and Wheelman), and you know what to do with Godfather points and Profile points. So it's time to do jobs!

New York, is the best location for this, do not go to Cuba, Moscow or Bangkok since the experience gained from doing jobs is less than in New York. Don't even worry about mastering jobs in New York for the extra profile points because you can go back and do all these later when you are at a higher level and have lots of energy to use. Once you are at a high enough level and you have lots of energy to use then you can consider to do jobs in Cuba, Moscow and Bangkok.

Now visit the New York job guide which can be found here. For each level, keep doing the job that as the highest ratio. The job guide will show you which is the best. Do this until you reach level 35. You will now be able to do jobs in Consigliere. You should now concentrate fully on completing all jobs on this and mastering them all to level 3 because you will then gain a Helicopter which will give you a 30 second reduction on your energy regeneration timer.

Once you have got the helicopter, go to the Underboss jobs and do the same, master every job to level 3 and you will get a Private Island which will give you a 5% bonus on job experience.

Then lastly go to the Boss jobs and master all of those to level 3 which will give you a Golden Throne which gives you twice as much energy gained per energy regeneration period.

Once this is done, you should now see that when you go to do the job in the Boss level in New York which is called 'Settle a beef... permanently'. You should see that the energy required to do this job is 35 and the experience gained will be 74. This is now the best job in the entire game to do. You can easily level up fast by doing this job.

One last word

This guide is written to show you how to level up faster, we recommend you set yourself a level target to reach. If you start from level 1, then level 250 would be a reasonable target. We say this because once you achieve your target level, you can then start to play the game as it's meant to be played, start to concentrate on doing other jobs, getting collections, getting loot, go fighting, go robbing, going to the other locations and doing jobs there, spending profile points on attack and defence and stamina and health, get yourself properties etc. You could use this guide to get to level 1000 but be warned it will take the fun out of the game!
